biography
Originally from San Antonio, I earned my MFA in Theater Education from UT-Austin after a BFA in Theater from Texas Tech University. I taught in Dallas for 15 years. As I worked through struggles with depression, anxiety, and self-doubt, I had a transformative experience in therapy. This led me to enroll in a program for social work. I received my MSW from UT-Arlington. I am now deeply committed to supporting my clients on their healing path.
I’ve been married for 30 years to my husband, Jeff Strong. I have 3 adult children and two dogs. I am a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Psychotherapeutic Yoga Teacher (PYT-200). I am an EMDR-trained practitioner with some Gottman Couples Therapy and Relational Life Therapy training. My philosophy for counseling comes from two approaches: client-centered and Family Systems Theory.
My approach is to therapy to create a safe place for you so we can build a connection. I want to be a sounding board for you and help you build skills that help you along your path. I am guided by a strong sense of ethics, creativity, and compassion. I take great pride in my work and I love to see the beautifully diverse ways you can show up in the world.
